This Company Is Hiring Someone To Travel The World For Free
If one of your New Year’s resolutions includes traveling the world or experiencing new things, there’s a dream job opening just for you. The travel startup Noken is looking for a new CEO.
Now, that title might give you pause. But this is not the typical CEO role that might have you holed up in a cushy corner office. Nope. Noken’s CEO is actually a cultural exploration officer. Which means that whoever lands this job will be “in charge of gaining a holistic introduction into the unique cultures of Japan, Iceland and Portugal.”
What does this mean, exactly? Basically, the CEO will manage the logistics of their day-to-day travels and create content that allows them to share their experience with the Noken community.
Unlike many other travel dream jobs, this opportunity is more of a side hustle than a full-time gig. Noken provides three all-expenses-paid trips to Iceland, Portugal and Japan as one of the job perks. The trips are spread out, with just one each year. Which means the lucky CEO can still maintain their day job and home, if they want to.
In addition to covering travel expenses for each of the trips, Noken will pay a daily stipend for each day of your trip. In return, the new CEO will take one trip a year and create content along the way for Noken’s social media channels. They will also write three blog posts about “meeting somewhere new.”
One of Noken’s objectives for the role is to “get out of your comfort zone and meet somewhere new.” So you don’t need an overflowing passport to qualify — just a valid U.S. passport. The other requirements are an interest in travel, a knack for snapping beautiful photos and a public Instagram profile. You must also be at least 21 years old.
If that’s you, all you have to do to apply is take five photos of your hometown’s landmarks and local gems. Then, post all five in a carousel on Instagram and tag @Noken. Finally, explain why you should be Noken’s next CEO in your caption with the hashtag #NokenCEO. Noken will accept applications between Dec. 19 and 31 and will announce the new CEO on Feb. 5.
